In 2010 the idea of the plus (+) started. I think that this photo was the start of this 'theme', and i start to play in photoshop. The strange thing is that as soon as you found a 'theme', it suddenly appears everywhere! Even a friend of mine saw pluses everywhere. You also notice that others have been using the same theme.(see links).
